We are saying goodbye.

A lot has been going on over the last 1-2 year for all of us, Collectively and as individuals.

Coming up on the anniversary of D’s death it’s time to send a goodbye to everyone and let you all know that Tender Fruits is just not something that can be anymore, and will be coming to a close.

The groups have been officially shut down forever and the discord spaces have been deleted. While the land will always be a site of resistance, joy and liberation, it will no longer be a Tender Fruits land project. This has been incredibly hard and filled with lots of mixed emotions, as We are sure it will bring up emotions for y’all as well. thank you to everyone who has been part of the community, who has supported us, boosted us and been part of the movement.

We feel comforted in the knowing that the work won’t stop, we just won’t be doing it together anymore.

Alright y’all,
here is the real: in February a community and member died suddenly related to post-COVID complications. Honestly we are really fucked up about it. Individually and Collectively we are all processing in our own ways. We all had unfinished something. As always is the case with sudden death. We are all trying to figure out what it looks like to be, to be together and to continue. We are grieving. We are exhausted.
Before this we were grieving and exhausted.
We will not be responsive to messages here on Instagram or Facebook for… a while? And while the Discord spaces are always open , we will not be holding group space or checking emails to let folks into Discord space until we can extend some care internally and heal.
We are always accepting support, aid, and co-conspirators. So if that is you feel free to send it or reach out. We just do not have capacity to take on any requests right now.

We have been raising $300,000 for the cost of several Disabled, QTBIPOC members to transition to living on the land, convert the garage into living space for them and for folks coming to the space in the future, build at least one new housing structure for Crip, Mad and Sick, QTBIPOC and to pay of the mortgage on the house and land to ensure the safety of everyone forever!

Thanks to a match from a rad and generous community member this next $25,000 will allow us to secure this land space forever by paying the remainder of the mortgage! This means that we will be able to safely live, grow, heal and build here without threat of losing it to a bank. And that we can ensure this land and everything we build stays in collective, Crip hands forever, for the benefit of people and the planet.
